With Christmas just around the corner (only 17 shopping days left!), I figured that I should probably show you the glittery wreath that adorns our front door…at least until Jon decides to take it down.
As you can see, I chose a simple color scheme of blue and silver set against the evergreen wreath. You may recognize the ribbon in the background as being used in the two wintry wreaths that I created last month (but finally got a post up about yesterday…oops). With all the glitter that comes from the picks used in the wreath, a more simple ribbon was absolutely needed (but the touch of glitter certainly helps to tie it all in).
After placing all of the pieces out on the floor, getting glitter everywhere and pine needles all over the place, I am quite happy with how it all turned out for my first time working with an evergreen wreath (they are much more challenging, in my opinion).
If you want to create one of these wreaths, select the right size wreath for your door or to go over your fireplace…or where ever you may want to put it. Find some Christmas picks that you like and maybe some ribbon to compliment it all. To put it all together, you’ll need some floral wire to secure the picks and some fabric glue or hot glue for the ribbon. Lay it all out how you want it and then secure it down.
Here are some of the close-up shots of the wreath. Photo credits go to Jon (I decided it was too cold to take them the day I put the wreath out so he was sweet enough to do it for me 🙂 ).
